Free Landlord Educational Seminar

February 25, 2014 - Mayor Byron Brown, in his ongoing effort to create safe, healthy and livable neighborhoods, is sponsoring through the Save Our Streets Task Force a ‘Free Landlord Educational Seminar’ on Friday, March 14, 2014, from 8:30am-4:30pm.   The annual program is free, but registration is required.

Rental property owners will have the opportunity to enroll in the beginner training sessions; which will focus on several areas including rapid re-housing program utilization, how to detect and prevent drug activity, how to utilize Belmont’s landlord resources, housing codes and inspection procedures, housing court procedures, proper eviction proceedings, tenant screening protocols, fair housing and leases, as well as lead poisoning prevention.

The Advanced Workshop will also be offered that day to those who attend the beginner training session. Attendees of the advanced workshop may register for courses addressing topics such as:  Property Management 101, Building Codes, Maintenance & Permits, Evictions 101, Tenant Screening, Rapid Re-housing Program Benefits 101 and Protecting Your Investment.

Training Sessions will be held at the Belmont Housing Resources of WNY. The office is located at 1195 Main Street in Buffalo. Free refreshments and lunch will be provided.
