December 4, 2014 – Today Mayor Byron Brown helped announce the debut of a Children’s Book, titled, “Max Meets the Mayor”.  Local Entrepreneur/Author Mark Goldman wrote the book, based on a real-life experience with his now 7-year-old grandson, Max.  Mayor Brown, Mark
Goldman, Max and illustrator Elizabeth Leader shared the book today at Buffalo City Hall with children.

"One of the things I enjoy most about being Mayor is visiting school children, reading with them and hearing about what they want to be when they grow up," Mayor Brown said. “Max Meets the Mayor” gave me an opportunity to further educate our children about the demands and realities of my profession, encourages them to dream about their own career aspirations and inspires civic involvement.”

Mark Goldman is an author, historian, entrepreneur and proud grandpa.  Elizabeth is a well-known Buffalo artist and the author and illustrator of “Buffalo Snow”.

"I hope this book encourages children to think about their futures and set attainable goals. Moreover, I hope it inspires them to understand the importance of reading as it relates to education,” Mayor Brown added.

“Max Meets the Mayor” is available online at www.buffaloheritage.com and at many Buffalo area book stores, toy stores and gift shops.
