Culter Director of Communications 716-851-4841 Get Dressed Downtown! Returns Menswear Retail to City Center BUFFALO – In a sign of the continuing revitalization of Downtown Buffalo, Mayor Byron W. Brown today participated in the dedication of Get Dressed Downtown!, the first menswear retail store to operate along the city’s downtown Main Street corridor since the closing of the once venerable Peller & Muir men’s clothing store. “This is truly a great day for Downtown Buffalo,” said Mayor Brown. “We have been working diligently to revive Buffalo’s downtown, attracting corporate investment through companies like New Era Cap Company and Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Western New York and adding more urban housing for people that either work downtown or for others who enjoy the amenities of urban living. Now, we are dedicating the first new menswear retail business that will cater precisely to that audience.” In fact, Get Dressed Downtown! will offer home furnishings in addition to men’s clothing. In a new twist, the store’s furnishings, in addition to other home furnishing items, will be available for purchase. The store, modeled after the long-established Get Dressed men’s clothing store on Elmwood Avenue, features brand name, designer menswear at affordable prices. “I am very excited to open in an area of the city that is really starting to take off,” stated Michael Attardo, owner of Get Dressed Downtown! “There is a great market here with all of the professionals working throughout downtown, but, even better is the emerging residential market that’s really gaining traction throughout the downtown core. This store will continue our 32-year success on Elmwood by providing excellent menswear, and now home furnishings, at lower price points.” The 700-square foot store is located at 522 Main Street between the former Berger Building and the Hyatt Hotel. Store hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. |
