Computer-based Management Tracking Initiative to Provide Greater Accountability

BUFFALO – Six months into his tenure in City Hall, Mayor Byron W. Brown today launched CitiStat Buffalo, the computer-based management tracking initiative that is designed to provide greater accountability and efficiency among the city’s workforce.

“CitiStat Buffalo is the fulfillment of my commitment to the residents of Buffalo to search for and adopt best public and private practices that will make city government run more effectively and efficiently,” said Mayor Brown. “This program was one of the central issues of my candidacy for mayor and my Administration has aggressively pursued its implementation since we entered City Hall. I am pleased that this extremely important program is now underway.”

The computer-based management tracking initiative will commence with a review of the Office of Citizen Services, which includes the Mayor’s Call and Resolution Center, as well as the Administration’s quick response teams: Mayor’s Impact and Clean & Seal Teams.

In addition, the remaining Citizen Services programs will also be reviewed, they are: Save Our Streets, Weed & Seed, Support Services, Fair Housing, the Office of Citizen Participation and Information, and the Citizens’ Advisory Committee.

The CitiStat review panel consists of: Mayor Brown, First Deputy Mayor Steven Casey, Office of Strategic Planning Executive Director Timothy Wanamaker, Corporation Counsel Alisa Lukasiewicz, Human Resources Commissioner Leonard Matarese and Interim Administration and Finance Commissioner Donna Estrich.
