Commissioner of Deeds will be expiring on December 31, 2010.  All renewals must be received in room 1308 before December 8, 2010.  The applications need to be clearly marked as “RENEWAL”.  You must either live or work in the City of Buffalo to qualify for appointment.

• Application for Appointment of Commissioner of Deeds 

Completed forms with signatures witnessed by a valid Notary or Commissioner of Deeds are to be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office, Room 1308 City Hall, Buffalo, NY 14202 by December 8, 2010.  The cost is $20 payable to the City Clerk’s office.

After Common Council approval you will be notified by the County of Erie to sign your signature card and pay an additional $10.00 filing fee payable to Erie County, 25 Delaware, Buffalo NY 14202

Any Government Employee applying for a renewal required for the Proper Performance of Public Duty in which the fee is waived must attach a letter signed by their Department Head to the City Clerk as well as a letter to the County Clerk listing the names of the individuals.  Departments with several applicants should submit all applications and corresponding letters at the same time.
