The Great American Clean-Up

The City of Buffalo has participated in the Great American Cleanup since the name was adopted in 1999. In the past, GrowWNY – Keep Western New York Beautiful has led this initiative. This year, The City will be leading this national initiative under the guidance of Mayor Byron Brown and will be the affiliate to national – Keep America Beautiful.

Registration will open Friday, April 21st and will close Sunday, April 30. Block Clubs, community leaders, public and nonprofit organizations, and Buffalo residents are encouraged to organize an event, recruit volunteers, and register either in person (visiting the Division of Citizen Services in Room 218 in Buffalo City Hall) or by calling 3-1-1 Call and Resolution Center. By registering, event coordinators will receive plastics bags and anti-graffiti wipes while supplies last. Supplies will be available for pick-up the week of May 1st, 2017. Event coordinators are encouraged to use their own tools, but should they have a need for tools, Division of Citizen Services can assist residents by referring them to University Tool Library.

The first day of the city-wide events will launch on May 6th, 2017. The last day of city-wide events will be Friday, June 30th.
